Here at Beck's Flowers, I am passionate about great floral design. I love all styles of floristry - the traditional, the vintage, the modern... All of my designs are bespoke, designed with the specific client in mind.
I specialise in wedding flowers, but also undertake work for other events. Consultations can take place in person at your home or a mutually convenient public place. Your consultation is free, with no obligation. Or if you'd prefer, the whole process can be conducted via email, with a small questionnaire to fill in about your day, and the details of the flowers you're interested in having. Just get in touch!
I enjoy learning all the new tricks of the trade, and regularly read and follow designers blogs to catch up on the latest trends. Especially interesting is European and International floristry, pushing the boundaries with new exciting ideas!
Over the 13 years I've been a florist, I've always tried to push myself and stretch my creative mind. I have my Higher Diploma in Floristry, for which I also received the Brian Reeves Trophy for Theoretical Achievement, and have competed in several floral competitions. Most notably, the Interflora Florist of the Year competition National Final in July 2011 at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show. It was a hectic, stressful day, with 4 heats in front of a live audience. I was very pleased to be awarded 8th place overall - not bad for my first big competition!
Since then I have entered several more regional heats, for both Interflora Florist of the Year and Chelsea Florist of the Year, but always seem to be pipped to the post! Although I'd love to give competing another go, I'm currently concentrating on building my business, and continue stretch myself learning more of the new, European techniques.
